From the Port to the Cathedral: Ancona Walking Tour Impressions

Starting from the meeting point in front of the Teatro delle Muse, the Ancona Walking Tour leads into the heart of the harbor. Here, two arches have welcomed visitors for centuries: the Roman Arch of Trajan, built in 115 AD, and the Clementine Arch, created by Luigi Vanvitelli in the 18th century.

From the waterfront, we climb to the upper level of the city. The Palazzo degli Anziani rises before us, a quiet witness to the city’s golden age as a maritime republic in the Middle Ages.

The path ascends toward the Cathedral of Saint Cyriacus at the top of the hill, opening new views of the urban landscape. From the port to the cathedral, the city unfolds layer by layer as we climb.
