Starting from the meeting point in front of the Teatro delle Muse, the Ancona Walking Tour leads into the heart of the harbor. Here, two arches have welcomed visitors for centuries: the Arch of Trajan, built in 115 AD, and the Arco Clementino created by Luigi Vanvitelli in the 18th century.
Looking at the Arco Clementino with our backs to the sea, a single perspective guides our eyes from sea level to the hilltop. Within this frame, the Arch of Trajan aligns perfectly with the cathedral and its medieval bell tower.
